PORTLAND United struck seven goals against Balti Sports as Simon Browne’s men ran completed a 7-2 victory on Thomas Hardye School’s 3G pitch.

Ryan McKechnie, Lewis Clarke and Josh Camp all bagged braces for the Blues in the friendly, with Aiden Jackson also on the scoresheet, while Ethan Devaney and Danny Andrews scored for Balti.

Speaking to Echosport, Browne said it was a “gentle” return to football in what was his first game in charge of the islanders.

“It was a relatively gentle introduction to life back on the football pitch.

“The first half wasn’t great, we didn’t create a great deal and we managed to miss a penalty – I’d rather that happen in pre-season.”
