DORCHESTER Rugby Club will again run a children’s rugby summer camp at their Coburg Road home this August.

Set to be held for boys and girls aged six to 16, the camp begins on Monday, August 7 and finishes five days later on Friday, August 11.

Run by coaches from across the world, the camp will expose young rugby players to diverse coaching methods and is designed to enhance playing ability and enjoyment of the sport.

Dorchester’s summer camp follows a momentous season for several of their youth teams.

A very successful under-15s side were crowned county champions and their Thomas Hardye School side also convincingly won the NatWest Schools Vase at Twickenham.

Last season around 300 players registered at the club, with both the boys and girls sides turning out a number of county players, many of whom were selected for the Dorset and Wiltshire development player programme.

Other players have gone into the Bath Academy set up and some have also been scouted at national level.

Dorchester RFC currently caters for boys and girls between ages six and 18 to play rugby locally and has strong links to the county set-up at Dorset and Wiltshire.

Information for the camp can be obtained by emailing summercamp@dorchester-rfc.co.uk

Registration for the new season starts on Sunday, September 3 and the following two Sundays from 10am to 12 noon. More details on registration can be obtained by emailing drfcminichair@dorchester-rfc.co.uk or drfcjuniorchair@dorchester-rfc.co.uk
