DAVE Butler served up a real feast of darts on week five of the ADC singles league taking three points from his two games of the evening.

Showing lots of promise over the last few weeks, Butler drew his first game 3-3 with Chris Burton before going on to win 4-2 against what can only be described as a very dazed Arnie Quinn.

Butler finished the night with two 180s to his name as well.

Quinn started the evening with what would normally be seen as a good 3-3 draw against current leader Andrew McDermott but had he taken advantage of a lot of sloppy darts would be claiming a victory instead.

This would turn out to be Quinn's fifth draw of the league so far.

After his second draw in consecutive weeks, McDermott picked up another win in beating Adam Mckay 4-1 and holding on to top spot.

Rapidly closing the gap on leader McDermott is Danny Aplin who produced some outstanding darts in both his matches losing only one leg in the process all night.

Aplin's first match was against Mel Burton who also hit some fantastic scores before eventually going down 4-1 and all legs checked out in less than 20 darts.

Aplin would then better this in his 4-0 win against Matty Paice winning in 17, 15, 14 and 13-dart legs.

Paice did little wrong and stuck with Aplin but just couldn't find the killer blow when it really counted.

More than holding his own in this league, Matty Paice picked up a very impressive 3-3 draw with Mark Samways in his first match and hit a 180 in the process.

This would turn out to be Samways first of two draws on the night drawing 3-3 with Wayne Jordan, both players matching each other leg for leg so the draw was always going to be a fair result in the end.

Wayne Jordan's first game of the night would see his best performance so far this season crushing Chris Stones 4-0.

Jordan is another player showing great promise the last few weeks just missing doubles at crucial times, this might be the turning point and confidence he needs to go on a winning run.

Week five was to be one to forget for Chris Stones who played three games in total on the night and lost all three, going down 4-0 to Jordan he would then lose 4-2 to Scott Gannon and 4-0 to Paul Dormer.

Missing last week might have taken its toll on Stones when trying to play catch up.

Paul Dormer's season finally started after being found missing in most of his matches so far and not showing his full potential winning both games of the evening.

This was kick-started with a 4-2 win over Nigeria Davis and hitting an 81-shot-out on the bull to take the first leg while Davis was sat on a double.

Had he missed, Davis could have taken advantage and the scoreline could have been different.

If Stones thought he had it tough playing three games on the night, Davis would beat that by playing four in total but unluckily for all his efforts he could only pick up one draw and the rest defeats.

Davis' first game was a 3-3 draw with Scott Gannon before losing 4-0, 4-2, 4-1 to Andy Masters, Paul Dormer and Trevor Honnor, respectfully.

Scott Gannon would lose one, draw one and finish with a very impressive win over Chris Stones (4-2) proving anyone can beat anyone in this league.

Honnor had a mixed evening, losing one and winning one, going down in the first match of the night to arguably the in-form player of the moment in Simon Churchill 4-1 before showing great darts in his final match, winning 4-1 against Davis.

This match had three 180s and another 15-dart leg from Honnor.

Churchill carried on from last week taking the 1,001 shoot-out in 34 darts before beating Honnor and then Paul Paice 4-2. Churchill hit a 180 and a 14-dart leg in this victory.

Mckay suffered a defeat in his second match to McDermott would start with a 4-0 win over Paul Paice but surprisingly no180 on the night.

Paice who can't get a break at the moment and is only the width of the wire away from claiming more victory than loses suffered two defeats.

Masters continued his winning streak and moved up to third in the table winning both his matches 4-0, 4-0 against Davis and Mel Gregg hitting another 180 on the way.

Gregg couldn't improve on her first point last week, losing both her matches.

Burton would inflict a 4-1 defeat on Gregg. A 3-3 draw with Butler in his second game saw Burton pick up three valuable points on the night and move him away from the foot of the table.

Burton started the night winning 4-1 against Scott Gannon, struggling to get going through some of the legs experience in the end pulled him through and Burton took out doubles just when he needed to claim the win.

A total of 10 180s were hit on the night but no 100+ out shots

180s: Trev Honnon (2), Dave Butler (2, Matty Paice, Andrew McDermott, Andy Masters, Danny Aplin, Nigeria Davis , Simon Churchill
