WEYMOUTH manager Mark Molesley was pleased with his side’s character as they left it late to secure a 2-0 home win for the second match running in the Evo-Stik Southern Premier Division.

Goals from Josh Carmichael and Toby Down saw off the heated challenge of Tiverton Town at the Bob Lucas Stadium, which lifts them up to second in the table.

The Terras’ boss said: “We’re praising the lads’ determination, grit and never-say-die attitude.”

The result comes despite Harry Baker being sent off for two yellow cards, with the second coming after throwing the ball into the crowd during the celebrations for the second goal.

Molesley said: “They stuck in a hard game there and came up with the quality needed. We always feel that we believe in ourselves and are confident.

“I think the longer the game goes on we get that feeling and we can win it.”

against Kings Langley with Baker and Abdulai Baggie coming in for Pat Suraci and Josh Wakefield.

The Weymouth manager said: “I thought we ended the game well against Kings Langley.

“I felt like we finished strong, I felt like we wanted to finish with that attacking threat so we switched it up, balanced it up, freshened it up a little bit and I think it worked.”

Josh Carmichael opened the scoring with a shot from 30 yards out after winning the ball in midfield, while a Toby Down header from a Josh Wakefield corner secured the three points.

The Terras are next in action away to Slough on Saturday, who are fourth in the league with 34 points.
