DORSET STORM 36

JURASSIC COASTERS 88

UNBEATEN Jurassic Coasters continued their impressive form with an 88-36 demolition of Poole-based Dorset Storm in the under-16s' South West National League.

Coasters were first on the board with two points from Giuseppe Landolfi closely followed by another two from Louis Weaver.

Storm weren’t going to be taken likely as they got their own points on the board and, after drawing a foul, converted two more to take an early lead. This seemed to spur the visitors on as they went on a 12 points to nothing run with baskets from Owen Leivers, Eoin Goring, Bradley Morgan and Landolfi.

Storm then found their form again, finishing the quarter strong to keep the score to within six.

Into the second quarter the Coasters dominated the first two minutes increasing their lead to 10 with Weaver and Landolfi hitting the mark before Leivers was fouled going up to the ring.

In the ninth minute of the quarter the Coasters had reached team fouls and gave away four free throws. Fortunately for the Coasters, Storm couldn’t capitalise and baskets from Morgan and Landolfi finished off the quarter as the visitors went into the break with a healthy 47-28 lead.

The third quarter saw the Coasters power at both ends with Luca Trevett leading the defensive duties as the Coasters held off the hosts only allowing Storm one basket in the entire quarter.

Kieron Scott added to the baskets tally of 15 points before the hosts scored. The final basket of the quarter saw William Sherlock take the visitors to a 40-point lead.

Coasters dominated the last quarter again with Morgan and Landolfi making the most of the open play points.

Weaver was sent to the free throw line twice as the hosts couldn’t find any answers and Henry Ackerley made a late surge picking up two of the final five points to round off a comfortable victory.
