PAT Suraci has left Weymouth after his one month loan deal from Bognor Regis Town expired after the 1-0 win at home to Chesham on Saturday.

Suraci scored one goal in his time with the Terras, a wonderful chip from the edge of the box that saw them beat Totton in the second round of the BigFreeBet.com Challenge Cup.

Weymouth manager Mark Molesley said: “I would like to thank him for his efforts. He was an asset to us, with the games he played he has done very well.”

Suraci made three appearances for the Terras as he played against Hitchin Town and Kings Langley in the league and his last appearance came against Totton, while he was an unused substitute against Slough Town and Tiverton Town.

Molesley explained: “It’s always tough with a loan player because you always feel a little bit more loyal and committed to the players that you have on contract.”

Weymouth have had players returning from injury faster than expected, which had an impact on the amount of games that Molesley picked Suraci for as he said: “We took him, we had a look at him we liked him and we played him but ultimately with a couple of players coming back a little bit earlier than we anticipated, like Brandon.

“So just the last couple of games of his loan the opportunity just wasn’t quite there as there was at the start of the loan but that wasn’t a sly on him."

Suraci earned a lot of praise for his performance and how he handled himself during his time with the Terras, saying: “He has done well and conducted himself well and he is a good player. He is certainly someone we will keep on our radar and keep an eye on.”
