BRIDPORT assistant-manager Paddy Behan expects a retaliation from high-flying Street when the Cobblers visit St Mary’s Field on Boxing Day (1pm).

Toolstation Western League Premier Division leaders Street were beaten 3-1 by the Bees in the FA Cup preliminary round and Behan anticipates a revenge mission from the Somerset side.

He told Echosport: “Street will definitely be up for playing us. The Street of last season were a very, very good side but this season are even better.

“They had a little bit of a dodgy start but they’ve just powered on, they’ve got some very good players.

“I think because we’ve beaten them in the FA Cup they will be coming to turn us over. We have to be defensively solid.

“We had a gameplan against them in the FA Cup and it worked, so we’ll be looking to do a similar job on them.”

Bridport left-back Lee Sweet will come up against his former club having joined the Bees earlier in the season, and Behan believes he may have a “point to prove”.

He said: “For whatever reason it didn’t work out for him at Street. I’m sure he’ll be looking forward to it, he maybe has a little bit of a point to prove.

“I think Sweeter will do what he does, he’s gone from strength to strength. I’m sure he’ll want to have some sort of say in it.”
