King's Bluebirds warning

SET TO PLAY: Byron Napper SET TO PLAY: Byron Napper

BRENDON King believes wounded Chippenham Town will be gunning for revenge at Hardenhuish Park tonight (7.45pm).

The two teams are well acquainted having already met twice this season.

But with the Terras tasting victory on both occasions – 2-0 in the Evo-Stik Southern Premier and 2-1 in the FA Trophy – this evening’s hosts are determined to avoid a hat-trick of defeats.

Weymouth’s manager said: “They are a decent side and they are normally pretty well organised.

“My only worry is that we have beaten them twice this season and it’s very difficult to beat someone three times in a season.

“Their manager Adie Mings will have them well drilled and he doesn’t like to lose so they will be fired up after losing to us twice already.

“They pose a threat going forward and Alan Griffin and Dave Gilroy up front are a real handful so it’s going to be tough, especially on their own patch. But the last time we played them we were able to get at them at the back.

“On our day, if everyone in the team is firing, we can beat anyone.

“We know that but it’s about making sure everyone does their job. If that’s the case then we will give anyone a game, which we have already proved this season.

“For some reason we seem to raise our game against the sides near the top of the table.

“The games are coming thick and fast now so hopefully we can build some momentum.”

A pitch inspection is scheduled to take place at 2pm but with temperatures on the rise, King is quietly confident of a first outing since January 31 – when the Terras ran out 2-1 winners at Stourbridge.

And he is expected to have a full strength squad to choose from, including the returning Byron Napper.

The boss added: “The paperwork for Byron and Mark Ford should go through in time and we’ve also got Ben Joyce and James Coutts available.

“We did have a few little niggles in the team but the rest has helped on that front.

“The only two who probably won’t travel are Ryan McKechnie and Richard Marshallsay.

“They are off to the Marines on February 20 so we are thinking about their future careers and trying to be sensible.

“They have said they will play if we need them but the last thing I want is for them to play and then break a leg.”

Terras (from): Jordan, Manley, Tribe, Dixon, Gerring, Poole, Jeannin, Clarke, Reed, Duff, Coutts, Napper, Byerley, Groves, Joyce, Ford.

* Weymouth’s home clash with Cirencester, which was postponed because of a frozen pitch 10 days ago, has been rearranged for Tuesday, March 13 (7.45pm).
