BRENDON King labelled last night’s loss at Chippenham as the proverbial game of two halves.
The Terras were the better side in the first 45 but crumbled in the second period – conceding three goals in the space of 10 minutes.
And the defeat proved “a bitter pill to swallow” for Weymouth’s frustrated boss.
He said: “We could have gone four or five-nil up at half-time. We didn’t and mentally it might have affected the boys.
“Unfortunately, Chippenham got their noses in front and we went to pot.
“When you are on top you have to take your chances, otherwise it will come back and bite you on the backside.
“It’s a bitter pill to swallow and there is no chance they were three goals better than us. The difference was the two guys they had up front (Alan Griffin and Dave Gilroy).
“It’s frustrating, especially when you don’t deserve to lose like that. It was just one of those nights where it was the classic cliché of a game of two halves.”
To compound the Terras’ misery, James Coutts limped off with an ankle injury and Warren Byerley sustained a split lip in a failed penalty appeal.
King added: “Couttsy was kicked in the first half and by half-time his ankle had swollen up. He went out for the second half but it was no good. We’ll have to assess it at training on Thursday.
“Warren got a split lip when he was smashed off the ball in the penalty area with a cheap shot. Our entire bench saw it from 40 yards away but the referee, who was 10 yards away, didn’t.
“He might have to have a couple of stitches on the inside of his mouth.”

A bit strong that Crabber, Chippenham are a good side and the Terras have beaten then twice in three meetings over the season.
I am sure you will be down the BLS to offer the team the encouragement and sipport they need to help them improve.
