WEYMOUTH Wildcats will be resurrected for a Challenge Meeting at Plymouth next Friday.
The club may have folded 16 months ago, after being evicted from the Wessex Raceway by landlords Wessex Delivery Partnership LLP, but Tim Allan refuses to let the Cats’ name die out.
He is therefore leading a seven-man team to the St Boniface Arena for a 15-heat clash on March 30.
Former Wildcat Tim Webster and veteran Dean Felton are expected to feature, as is local lad and ex-mascot Jamie Dixon.
The four remaining riders are set to be unveiled later this week.
Team manager Allan said: “I’m just waiting to confirm all of the riders but I can say that Tim Web-ster, Dean Felton and Jamie Dixon are all due to ride.
“I’m building the team to the National League limit of 40 points and if everything else comes off it will probably be the strongest side I can put out, with some popular old faces.
“The whole team will be revealed later in the week.”
Allan added: “It’s a 15-heat meeting with seven-man teams so it’s the full works.”
