NEW MILTON TOWN RES 0

DORCHESTER RESERVES 7

DAN Munday made an instant impact in Dorchester colours with a hat-trick in the reserves’ rout of New Milton.

And he wasn’t the only new face to impress boss Dave Kiteley and first-team assistant Stuart Heath on the night.

Midfielder Jake Rowley also grabbed a goal while dual-registered striker Conor Jevon linked up well with Mun- day.

The visitors, who stay top of the Wyvern League Premier Division with a maximum 18 points, only led 1-0 at half-time when Jamie Gleeson’s 25-yard effort struck a post and went in off the unlucky home keeper.

Dorchester had been on top from the start and they turned their dominance into goals after the interval with a treble for Munday and strikes from Rowley, Gleeson and Will Gape.

First-teamers Gleeson, Mark Jermyn and Calvin Brooks played the full 90 while keeper Alan Walker-Harris was given just under an hour.

“We weren’t ruthless enough in the first half even though we dominated, but in the second half we were outstanding,” said Kiteley, pictured.

“The new lads all did well and Dan Munday was superb. He was lethal up front and his three goals were all class finishes.

“And as Stuart Heath said, it’s possible these players don’t realise how much of an opportunity they have got to push on in the first team.”

The reserves host South Cheriton in the first round of the Dorset Senior Trophy on Saturday (2.30pm).
