AFC PORTCHESTER RES 1 DORCHESTER RES 2
Dorchester Reserves left it late to produce a dramatic turnaround at AFC Portchester Reserves to secure their second win in the Wyvern League this season.
An early first-half strike from distance found the top corner of Magpies’ keeper Shane Murphy’s net to put the hosts ahead for the majority of the contest.
But as the county town side pushed on in search of a leveller, they got their reward five minutes from time, when Josh Bertie headed home from close range after a goalmouth scramble from a Callum Neate’s cross.
Then in injury time, Keiron Parrett outsmarted his marker on the wing, cut inside and unleashed a fierce drive that sailed into the top corner to seal the win.
A late breakaway from the hosts saw Murphy pull off a great save right at the death, as the Magpies clung on to seal all three points.
