MARK Jermyn has told Echosport that a new code of conduct at the Avenue has been whole-heartedly accepted by his squad.

The Dorchester boss decided to draw up the document for the squad to sign after “quite a few incidents where certain elements within the dressing room got out” last season.

Issues such as discipline, wages, using social media and playing kit are all included in the agreement between the club and playing staff.

“They’ve all been handed out to the players and everyone has signed up,” said Jermyn. “Discipline is something I firmly believe in.

“Just because we are a semi-professional club it doesn’t mean to say we have to take the professionalism out of it.

“What we want is for the players to look after themselves in a professional manner.

“We’ve entered into agreements with players for a year so we expect them to uphold their side of it and we will do the same.

“The code of conduct is there so the players know where we stand and we know where they stand.

“Not one player has had a disagreement with it.”

He added: “Last season there were quite a few incidents where certain elements within the dressing room got out.

“The way some people conducted themselves didn’t go down well with the supporters.”
