SALISBURY 10 (Ten)

DORCHESTER TOWN 0

DORCHESTER Town suffered a humiliating Challenge League Cup defeat against a rampant Salisbury outfit away from home last night.

The Magpies went into the contest having rotated their squad from the side that triumphed 2-1 at Hayes & Yeading on Sunday and found themselves a staggering 7-0 down at the interval.

While Nathan Walker was unable to feature, his brother Steve Walker, a former Magpie, started in the heart of the Salisbury defence and set the massacre in motion heading in from a corner on 19 minutes - just four minutes later, the same thing happened again for 2-0.

It was then soon 3-0 to the hosts as former Gosport striker Justin Bennett drilled the ball home past Dorchester keeper Jordan Mullis, and, after just 29 minutes Oliver Mehew then got in on the act to score his first goal for Salisbury.

The Magpies did attempt to fight back and had the ball in the net themselves soon after, but the effort was chalked off for offside.

It was then five as Mehew got his second from the penalty spot, Bennett broke through to add a sixth and Mehew added his third to make it a staggering 7-0 as a dismal half for the Magpies drew to a close.

Neil Martin and Lewis Morgan were then introduced after the break in place of Jamil Roberts and Owen Nicolson as the away side looked to add a bit more experience.

Ben Wood was then brought on in place of Nick Swann as the Magpies stopped the flow of goals momentarily.

But an eighth then came for the home side as Calum Brockway headed in from a corner on 68 minutes.

Bennett then joined the hat-trick club to make it 9-0 in what was an absolute rout.

It then got worse as with 77 minutes on the clock, Bennett made it double figures to heap humiliation on the Magpies.
