FIRST-HALF goals from Jack Waldren and Lewis Toomey sent Dorchester Town to a 2-0 reverse at the hands of Kings Langley.

Waldren netted first thanks to a Toomey delivery in the 18th minute before Toomey scored on the stroke of half-time to give the hosts a comfortable cushion.

The Magpies were unable to create anything clear cut in the second half despite some handy possession, sending them to their second defeat in four days.

Mark Jermyn placed himself on the bench after picking up a hefty knock to his ankle in the midweek cup defeat against Portland. Stepping in for him was Dory Yates. Elsewhere, Neil Martin was dropped to the bench with Tom Blair replacing him.

Their opponents came into the game without a manager after joint-bosses Paul Hughes and Ritchie Hanlon resigned two days ago to take over at Hayes & Yeading United.

And, the Magpies nearly took the lead early on to compound the misery of the hosts as Tom Blair hit the bar from a corner.

However, it was Kings Langley who took the lead against the run of play. After a swift counter-attacking move, Waldren got on the end of a Toomey ball to net the opener.

The away side were forced into an early change, Martin replaced Mario Mateus, who went off injured.

Dorchester may have been dominating possession but, it was the hosts who looked more likely to score.

They hit the bar before doubling their lead in the 43rd minute. A ball over the top fell to Toomey, who made no mistake with a lob that left Murphy stranded.

The second half followed the same pattern as the first with the hosts in control of the ball but, unable to carve out many opportunities.

David Jerrard was brought on to give some more attacking impetus and Jason Brookes took the place of Ben Wood but, neither were able to make an impact as the Magpies were consigned to their second league defeat in a row.
