DORCHESTER RES 5

AFC PORTCHESTER RES 2

DORCHESTER Reserves made it four wins in a row in all competitions after they saw off Portchester at the Avenue Stadium.

Jamie Beasley fired the hosts ahead with a speculative effort after he won the ball out wide. He sent in a cross which went over the keeper’s and ended up in the top corner.

The visitors then equalised before Phil Ormrod restored the Magpies’ lead after hammering home after Beasley played him through.

Ormrod notched his second early in the second half from the penalty spot after Tom Blair had been fouled in the box.

The Magpies then increased their advantage when Sam Lanahan launched a weak header towards goal and the keeper spilled it over the line.

Substitute Jamie Rawlings then made it five for the county town side as they looked in control.

A fantastic run and ball from fellow replacement Dom Panesar-Dower allowed Rawlings the time to slot past the visiting keeper.

Late on, the visitors reduced the deficit when they scored from the penalty spot.

This result leaves Dorchester on top of the table with 10 points after four games, with Poole Town in second, four points behind.

Magpies: Hibbs, Lawrence-Napier, Payne, Griggs, Wall, Dovell, Blair, Lanahan (Rawlings), Ormrod (Panesar-Dower), Brookes, Beasley (Morris). Subs not used: Parslow, Brumble

* Dorchester Ladies enjoyed a 21-0 romp over Verwood in the Dorset Women’s League with Becky Narramore scoring an incredible 11 goals.
