DORCHESTER Town chief Graham Kemp was convinced his side deserved more from last night’s clash with Histon.
Kemp couldn’t fault the effort his players put in during the 1-0 defeat at the Glassworld Stadium in Cambridgeshire, and he felt their performance was definitely worthy of a point.
“I thought we played really well with a patched up side,” he said. “We were worth a draw but one mistake with about 20 minutes left cost us.
“We created a few chances and the effort from the boys was great, it was just a shame we made that one basic error of giving the ball away on the edge of our box.”
He added: “The lads did exactly what we asked of them and showed a great team spirit.
“Sometimes, losing the way we did is harder to take than being thumped because the boys gave it everything they had.”
Keeper Alan Walker-Harris was one of Dorchester’s standout performers on the night, saving Nick Freeman’s first-half penalty before being beaten by the same player for the only goal of the game on 72 minutes.
