A DISAPPOINTED Graham Kemp said he expected more from his Dorchester Town side at Holloways Park on Saturday.

Magpies’ boss Kemp felt hosts Slough were there for the taking but had a mental edge over the visitors that resulted in them claiming the three points.

Dorchester’s habit of conceding late goals was their downfall again, as Johnnie Dyer struck in the 84th minute to give the Rebels a 2-1 win.

“It was disappointing really because I didn’t think Slough were that great,” said Kemp. “But they are another team that has probably got a bit of a stronger mentality than us.

“We were in a position to get a point and conceded another late goal.

“I expected a bit more from us over the 90 minutes, and if we had been as good going forward as we were against St Neots and Paulton, we would have taken all three points.

“It was a winnable game for us which we haven’t won.”

On the plus side, Kemp was pleased with the performance of debutant Connor Doe.

He added: “Connor didn’t look out of place and certainly looks like he can play Southern Premier football.”

Kemp also revealed after the match that club captain Nathan Walker is a doubt for the Boxing Day clash with Weymouth.

Former Terras’ defender Walker sat out the Slough game with a bad back, leaving Robbie Matthews to fill in at centre-half.

However, Andy Robinson, another to miss Saturday through injury, will be fit to play in the derby, while Jake Smeeton has an outside chance of returning.
