MARK Jermyn has shed more light on how the Magpies’ new coaching team will work together.

When it comes to playing the game, player-manager Jermyn and assistant Nick Crittenden have a wealth of experience behind them – a huge plus for Dorchester given their current league position.

However, with the pair just em-barking on careers in management and playing for the same team, Jermyn says that the duo and first-team coach Stuart Heath are going to do things a certain way as they start their tenure at Truro City today (3pm).

“What we’re going to try and do is prepare for two or three different scenarios,” he said. “We’ll set up on Thursdays with how we want to start the game and then during the match we’ll have two plans to fall back on if we need them.

“It will be up to the three of us, me, Critts and Stuart, at half-time, or during a break in play, to make a decision if we have to.”

Jermyn also stated that because of the Magpies’ battle against relegation there will be occasions when both he and Crittenden will be needed on the pitch at the same time.

“As long as I’m fit and feel I can contribute on the pitch, I will be playing,” he added.

“Nick is fully aware that he is going to manage himself as to what games he can and can’t play. He has picked up a few injuries this season but there is no doubting his ability.

“There will be times during the remainder of the season when both of us are going to be on the pitch.

Meanwhile, commenting on the disciplinary matter involving Nathan Walker and Alan Walker-Harris that came to light during Graham Kemp’s reign, Jermyn said: “As far as I’m concerned they had their bust-up and it’s over and done with.”
