MARK Jermyn would love to see one of his players do something “out of the ordinary” and be the Magpies’ match-winner against Frome Town tomorrow (3pm).

The Dorchester player-manager is keen for someone to take a leaf out of Ashley Sammons’ book after the Redditch skipper produced a moment of brilliance to settle last Saturday’s game at the Avenue.

Jermyn also wants the county town side to add more intensity to their play and be a greater threat going forward.

“We’ve been okay over the last two games but I’m looking for a bit more from the players, myself included,” he said.

“By and large, we’ve been strong defensively, we’ve just been lacking something creatively.

“I just feel that we need someone who is going to step up and do something out of the ordinary, like the Redditch lad did.

“We need someone to step forward and be a match-winner, that’s what we’re looking for.

“We’re also looking for a decent performance at home as well. We need more intensity to our play and must start the game with a bit more guile to our play.”

Frome have picked up 10 points from their last five Evo-Stik Southern Premier Division fixtures to pull away from the relegation zone.

They sit one point behind the Magpies and Jermyn knows tomorrow’s encounter will be tougher than the reverse fixture was – Dorchester won 3-1 in Somerset last month.

“Frome are on a good run,” added Jermyn. “They’ve perked up a lot and I don’t think it will be as straight forward as it was for us when we played them away.

“They have managed to turn things around since then and taken points off the top teams.

“They got into a position that we found ourselves in earlier this season but, like us, showed how you need to pull together when times are tough.”

Lewis Morgan should return for the hosts but Nathan Walker is suspended.
