CHRIS Dillon is someone Dorchester Town boss Mark Jermyn would like to keep at the Avenue for “quite a while”.

Dillon scooped a hat-trick of club awards last Saturday on the back of an impressive debut season with the county town outfit.

The Supporters’ Player of the Season, Online Player of the Season and Dorset Echo Player of the Year accolades all went to Dillon, who was Graham Kemp’s first signing as Dorchester manager last September.

“He has definitely been one of our best performers since I’ve been here,” said current chief Jermyn. “And he’s one we’re looking to keep at the club for quite a while.

“I think he is a very focused character who just gets on with things and is always positive.

“He is very good in the air, he is quick, and not bad on the ball as well.”

Jason Brookes, winner of the Jack Lambert Award for Good Sportsmanship, also came in for praise from Jermyn.

“Jason is a great character,” he added. “Even when he is on the bench he can still pick people up and that’s the type of person I want around the squad.

“He has been on the fringes of the team but we’ve given him more game time in the last few months.

“He set up a goal against Paulton and then scored on Saturday, so things have gone well for him.”
