DORCHESTER Town chief Mark Jermyn has announced that Bradley Tarbuck has returned to the Avenue.

The talented winger, who impressed during a loan spell with the Magpies while at Portsmouth last term, has been snapped up by the club and is set to go straight into the county town squad for their trip to Cirencester tomorrow (7.45pm).

Boss Jermyn told Echosport: “Bradley is someone who we have been speaking to for a while but he has had trials at several pro clubs.

“He is still looking to get back into pro football but, at this time, we are going to work together and get him back to where he wants to be.

“At the moment he is looking to get some game time and, like I said to him, he has an opportunity to play.

“He is certainly a player who has talent and it’s another good young player we have signed.”

A repeat of Saturday’s performance at Cirencester would be just the ticket for Dorchester Town, but boss Mark Jermyn knows it might not be as straight forward as that.

A trip to the Corinium Stadium gives the Magpies their first chance of picking up points on the road this season in the Evo-Stik Southern Premier Division.

Like Dorchester, 3-0 winners against Histon at the weekend, Cirencester also won their opening match of the new campaign courtesy of a Zack Kotwica goal at Redditch.

And given that the Centurions finished last term just four points off the play-offs, Jermyn’s men are likely to face a much sterner test than that posed by Histon.

“We’ve got the travelling to take into consideration and a lot of other things you have to think about when you go away,” said Jermyn.

“There are so many other factors you need to take into account that it’s just not the same as a home game.

“Saturday’s result is only going to read 3-0, it’s not going to mention the fact that Histon were stuck on a bus in traffic before the kick-off for a couple of extra hours.

“For Cirencester, we’ve just got to identify what went well against Histon and stick to it.”

There were a lot of things that went well for Dorchester on Saturday, most notably the three goals scored by a trio of close season acquisitions.

Two of those, Charlie Davis and Tony Lee, both appeared to be feeling their hamstrings when they were substituted in the second half.

However, the duo are expected to take their places in the squad tonight, as is defender Chris Dillon, who Jermyn says is now back to full fitness.

“Charlie and Tony did a lot of running and we need to rest people up as much as possible,” he added.

“Chris is fit now but he has to reclaim his place.

“He was one of our best players last season but he has still got to fight to get back in.

“Jake Smeeton did really well at the back on Saturday so I’ve got a big headache ahead of Cirencester.

“Tony took a knock and that gave us the chance to get Mark Irvine on, and he did really well too.

“Players hate playing against him because of his pace and he is really effective with about 20 minutes to go in games.

“Also, Ben Watson playing in the hole looked very good and he set up a lot for us.”
