ALAN Walker-Harris was adamant that his Dorchester Town side “should have taken at least a point” from Tuesday’s fruitless trip to Cirencester.

The Magpies’ keeper had the unfortunate task of picking the ball out of his net four times during the defeat at the Corinium Stadium.

Jonah Ayunga, Tony Lee and Matt Oldring goals didn’t prove enough for the county town outfit as the hosts won 4-3 thanks to a late penalty.

“We were slow to get going and they scored an early goal,” said Walker-Harris when reflecting on the game. “We were guilty of some poor marking at the corner.

“We then started playing our way into the game and had plenty of chances.

“Jonah and Tony scored to put us in front but with the chances we had we probably should have been more than 2-1 up at half-time.

“They scored from another corner and then a free-kick but Matt drilled a great shot past their keeper.

“For their penalty it looked like the guy slipped over the ball but the referee gave it.”

He added: “We shouldn’t have lost that game, we should have taken at least a point.

“We were a little bit sloppy defensively at set-pieces, which was disappointing because we defended well on Saturday.”

Dorchester travel to Hungerford on Saturday as they face a side with two points from their first couple of Evo-Stik Southern Premier Division fixtures.
