THEIR clash with in-form Poole at the Avenue tonight (7.45pm) can’t come soon enough for Dorchester, according to Magpies boss Mark Jermyn.

Player-manager Jermyn is back from suspension for the county town club’s third battle with his former club this season, and he wants a response from the hosts after Saturday’s defeat by St Neots.

Dorchester failed to take their chances in Cambridgeshire before slipping to a 1-0 loss, while Poole recorded a fourth successive Evo-Stik Southern Premier Division victory when beating Cirencester.

The quick turnaround is something Jermyn is grateful for as it means his squad, which is set to be at full strength, can look to get back to winning ways as soon as possible.

After three consecutive losses in all competitions, Jermyn said: “The way things have gone of late, tonight couldn’t come quickly enough.

“We’re up against good opponents in Poole but we’ll be looking to get back to winning ways.

“I expect the players to give a reaction after Saturday’s result.

“You always want to do well against your former clubs and people you know.

“But I don’t want to get drawn into the way they approach it, I want us to concentrate on ourselves.”

He added: “Hopefully we should have a full complement to choose from.

“It will only be the second time this season that we’ve had a fully fit squad available.”

As well as Jermyn, defender Matt Oldring is expected to be involved tonight after missing the St Neots setback.

Dorchester drew 0-0 with the Dolphins at Tatnam in the first league meeting between the teams this season.

However, Poole came out on top in the Red Insure Cup tie at the Avenue last Tuesday.
