MARK Jermyn reckons there is little to separate Dorchester Town and Kingstonian heading into tomorrow’s FA Trophy clash at the Avenue (3pm).

The Evo-Stik Southern Premier Division meets the Ryman Premier Division in the second qualifying round, and for Magpies’ player-boss Jermyn it will be the first time he has come up against The Ks in his career.

Kingstonian, winners of the trophy in 1999 and 2000, are set to provide stern opposition for Dorchester after suffering only two defeats in their last 19 games in all competitions.

But while the visitors sit sixth in their division, the Magpies are just two points adrift of the play-off places in theirs thanks to back-to-back league victories.

When asked who the favourites were for tomorrow’s tie, Jermyn said: “I think it is level pegging.

“They are in a strong position in their league but I think we are quite similar when it comes to the points we’ve picked up so far this season.

“We’re only seven points off the top and will be looking to kick on after this, but we want to beat Kingstonian first, and there is a bit of money on it too.”

Jonah Ayunga twisted his ankle in Wednesday’s friendly with the Army but is expected to take his place in the Magpies' matchday squad.

However, Charlie Davis, whose penalty gave Dorchester victory over Bedworth last Saturday, is suspended after picking up five bookings.

The club did try to get the ban rescinded as there was some confusion over whether or not Davis had been cautioned during the home draw with Cirencester in the FA Cup.

Meanwhile, Jermyn also told Echosport he has been actively looking to “bring some fresh faces” into the county town club.
