ALAN Walker-Harris will stay between the posts for this weekend’s game against Redditch United despite his mistake which cost the Magpies a win in Saturday’s 1-1 draw at Paulton Rovers.

The keeper dropped the ball from a corner which allowed the hosts to level through Aaron Brown. He told his manager Mark Jermyn after the game that he was pushed in the back in the build-up to Rovers’ 88th minute equaliser.

But the referee did not give a free-kick for the push and his manager seemed unaware of any foul play.

“I did not see it,” the manager stated. “But Alan has been around long enough and I respect his judgement.”

Walker-Harris was recalled to the starting side after Shane Murphy suffered a groin injury during the week, and his boss expects the goalkeeper to miss the rest of the campaign.

He added: “He (Murphy) suffered a groin injury and I don’t think he will be available for the rest of the season.

“I am happy to play Walker-Harris for the remainder of the games.”

Up to the error the keeper had been solid, keeping a strong-starting Rovers at bay with two good saves in the first half. His teammate Bradley Tarbuck broke the deadlock midway through the second half before Rovers’ Brown profited in the 88th minute.
