MAGPIES’ manager Mark Jermyn was left frustrated by his side’s 1-0 defeat at Bedworth United in the Evo-Stik Southern Premier Division.

Despite a positive first half, Jermyn felt his side lacked real cutting edge leaving him disappointed with what might have been.

After the game he said: “First half we played okay. On a 3G pitch we knew we could play our football.

“In the second half, we failed to replicate what we had to done in the first half.

“The lack of cutting edge really hurt us. We’re very disappointed with the result because given the situation that there in.

“I just can’t help but feel that because we couldn’t get into the play-offs it has had a massive impact on the attitude in the dressing room.

“At the moment we’re struggling to be a team that can really turn it (a game) around. Too many people are going into their shells and not coming out fighting.

Despite the run of poor form — that continued with the loss at Bedworth – the boss feels the management’s attitude is good and it is the playing squad that need to step up.

“We haven’t deviated from our plans all season,” Jermyn explained. “The main focus over the next two games will be the players' attitude. It is not acceptable to be losing these type of games. They are set up as well as they can be, there is nothing more we (the management team) can do for them.”
