DORCHESTER Town player-manager Mark Jermyn called on his players to change their attitude ahead of today’s derby clash with Weymouth (3pm).

On Saturday, they were slow to get out of the blocks in their 2-0 home defeat over Cambridge City where both goals were conceded in the first half.

A disappointed Jermyn told Echosport after the game: “From my point of view the first half was lacklustre and lazy in attitude.

“We worked harder in the second half but we couldn’t score. The damage was already done in the first half.

“It wasn’t the goals that hurt us, it was our attitude and that’s something we can’t prepare for.

“We had a good feeling in the camp but as soon as we started the energy levels dropped.

“We didn’t perform (in the first half).”

There was an improvement in the second half from the county town side and the boss knows they need to produce that level of quality throughout the 90 minutes if they are to get a result at the Bob Lucas Stadium.

He added: “Everybody is up for the challenge and I fully expect us to go there and put a performance in.

“There’s three points between us and both sides will be going for the win.

“I can expect a derby atmosphere.

“They have a good squad down there and it will be a feisty affair.

“I have no doubt that our players will step up to the plate.

“Win, lose or draw the attitude will be much better.

“They know they have to play better and we will go up against a stronger team.”

There were no injuries in Saturday’s defeat and Jermyn has signed defender Jamil Roberts, who played a part in pre-season.
