GOALKEEPER Shane Murphy is confident that Dorchester Town can get the ball rolling with a win over St Neots at the Avenue tomorrow (3pm).

The Magpies picked up a brilliant 4-0 away win against Frome Town but their last competitive victory at home came nearly seven months ago. That came against tomorrow’s opponents and Murphy feels his side have what it takes to finally end their drought.

He told Echosport: “We got a great win at Frome and it was a shame that we didn’t have a game last weekend to keep up the momentum. But we have an opportunity tomorrow to gain points and hopefully we can do that.

“They’re a good side, so we will have to give them respect that they are due. It should be a good game and we are looking forward to it.”

The county town side are likely to name a similar side to the one that put four past Frome as loanee Ollie Bassett set to feature once again after a brief cameo in Somerset.

Murphy collected his first clean sheet in that game and he was pleased to get the monkey off his back.

He said: “It was great to finally get one, but it’s not just about me. Everyone played really well and it was nice to get off the mark.”

It may be calm at the Avenue, however the same cannot be said about their opponents.

St Neots’ manager Andy Davies has been on a two-week holiday in Jamaica. Since then, his side have lost two league games and have been knocked out of the FA Cup in his absence.

Speaking about this, Murphy added: “I couldn’t imagine Jem (Mark Jermyn, player-manager) doing that.”
