DORCHESTER Town assistant player-manager Nick Crittenden admitted Merthyr Town are “one of the sharpest outfits” they’ve faced after the Magpies lost 2-0 at the hand of the Martyrs in Wales.

A double from Kayne McLaggon consigned the county town side to defeat, but Crittenden wasn’t feeling to perturbed by the result.

Assessing the game, he said: “They were very well drilled on their 3G pitch and we went there trying to be hard to break down.

“A few players had a sickness bug, but until they got their second, we looked like we might get something.

“But, after that, it was game over.

“Merthyr were one of the sharpest sides we have faced this season and I think they do well in the league.

“We won’t let this (loss) get us down and we want to bounce back on Saturday.”

Next up for the Magpies is another away trip – their fourth game away from the Avenue this month.

This time they face high flying Dunstable Town.
