MARK Jermyn is hoping for an easy draw in the Buildbase FA Trophy second qualifying round after his Dorchester Town side saw off a spirited Barnstaple Town on Saturday.

Goals from Tom Blair, Nathan Walker and Ollie Bassett helped the Magpies to a 3-1 win at the Avenue and the boss wants his side to go far in this competition.

After the game, he told Echosport: “We were very dominant in the first half but it was all about the second half.

“It does concern me about how we conceded the goal because I feel it’s ongoing at the moment.”

At the other end of the field, David Jerrard impressed up top alongside Walker and their manager is keen to try the partnership again.

He explained: “When he (Jerrard) is high up the pitch and around the box, he does link up well with the midfielders. We know he can play and it’s just about making sure we get him in that position. He can score goals.”

The draw happens tomorrow at 1pm and Jermyn wants a tie that is winnable.

He added: “I would like somebody who has scraped through this round. In the last month we have had some tough games when you look at our league games.

“So, it would be nice if this cup is nice to us. But, having said that, you have to beat some good teams if you want to get to the final.”
