DORCHESTER Town have announced Mario Mateus has left the Avenue by mutual consent.
The winger signed for the Magpies from Paulton Rovers in the summer but, found competition fierce after the county town side brought in Tom Blair from Bridport.
The club wished the Portuguese midfielder well and thanked him for his services.
Mark Jermyn hinted to Echosport after Saturday's FA Trophy defeat to Basingstoke Town that players would be leaving the club following the re-signing of Franklyn Clarke from York City.
Mateus made 21 appearances for the Magpies since the start of the season - two of which were off the bench.
During that time, he managed just the single goal, that coming in a 4-0 thrashing of Frome Town back in September.
