DORCHESTER Town defender Jordan Williams has said the team cannot wait to play again as they head into tomorrow’s match at Redditch United (3pm).

The Weston-Super-Mare loan star has been a regular since joining at the start of February and has said he’s hoping to repay the faith shown in him.

He said: “The fans have been great, and the lads and all the staff are absolutely top class. Personally, I think my performances haven’t been the best since I’ve been here but I’ll be trying to pick that up in the coming weeks and gain a bit of confidence.

“Craig (Laird, manager) is a top bloke, he manages the players really well. He definitely has a style of play which he’d like to play but the position we’re in makes it more about picking up points and staying up than playing nice football.

“I’m a big confidence player. After a few tough results and being at Weston where I wasn’t playing much over the last month or two, it’s just getting back into the swing of things really.”

Monday’s victory at Hitchin Town saw the Magpies make it two wins in their last three games, and Williams says the team are looking to take that new-found confidence into the weekend.

He said: “It raised the spirits massively. We went into the game knowing it was not going to be easy and to get a point would be

a great result for us on a Monday night, so to come away with three has raised the spirits throughout all the boys and all the staff.

“We’re all buzzing and can’t wait to get back out there to try and continue this run of form.

“We need to go into Saturday with the same mind-set as Monday night, if we’re defending well as a team and we can get a goal on the counter attack then I think we’d be able to go on and get the three points.”
