DORCHESTER Town striker Rory Fallon was an unused substitute as New Zealand secured a 0-0 draw in their FIFA World Cup play-off with Peru in Wellington.

Peru were on top for large periods of the game but were thwarted by the All Whites' Stefan Marinovic, who made a goal-line save and a crucial stop from an Aldo Corzo header.

New Zealand also wasted a good late chance to score when Ryan Thomas failed to hit the target.

The second leg takes place in Lima on Thursday morning (2.15am GMT).
