Martin resigns

DAVID Martin has today stepped down as director, company secretary and football secretary at Dorchester Town.

In a statement issued to Echosport, he said: "Due to the ongoing uncertainties over ownership of the majority shareholding at DTFC and other issues relating to the FA Cup it is with the greatest of sadness that I have today resigned as director, company secretary and football secretary with immediate effect.

"Having first joined the board 19 years ago and been secretary for the last 10 seasons it is a massive decision for me, but I can no longer continue in the present circumstances."

A sad day given Dave was key in DTFC still being in Blue Square South and has always been a voice of common sense and reason at a club that has been turbulent boardroom-wise for the past couple of years. Be interesting to know the full story, sadly most at the crazy house that is the Avenue Stadium won't care or notice.

Indeed this is a sad day for DTFC.The time and effort required to carry out the sort of day to day tasks that Dave undertook on behalf of the club was staggering and again a stalwart feels he is left no option but to walk away.Who will now do this work and at what cost to the club will be interesting

First troubles at WFC and now I suspect the depth of problems at DTFC will start to filter out

Did David jump or was he pushed By the current people running DTFC who all insist that Mr mitchell has nothing to do with DTFC anymore do they think that were all dumbugs Pull the other one please .I see that mitchell is on the verge of following in the terras footsteps with Bmth The money storey its all pathetic . I hope that Dave martin very well respected at DTFC comes out and tells all as to the real reasons of his resignation.

D T FC will be a poorer club with out David around one of the most respected people in non league football. It is sad to see the club going this way, unfortunately there are many more going in the same direction GOOD LUCK Dave hope to see you again one day. Jon P
