Dorchester Town have turned their attentions to a new target after missing out on Weymouth ace Stephen Reed.
The 26-year-old had initially agreed to join the Magpies, but in a sensational U-turn the midfielder has now opted to stay put.
Terras’ team-mate Sam Malsom did, however, make the move across the Ridgeway last night for a nominal fee and chairman Shaun Hearn is now chasing an unnamed Football League midfielder.
Commenting on Reed’s change of heart, Hearn told Echosport: “It’s a shame but you win some and you lose some. It was very much back and forth but now we can draw a line under it.
“It’s his decision to stay at Weymouth, I’m just disappointed that he agreed terms and then changed his mind.
“Nothing is sealed until they have signed on the dotted line, but I’m disappointed that we had a deal and then we didn’t. At the end of the day we want players who want to be at the club, so we will move on.”
And it appears the Magpies are already closing in on another potential signing.
Hearn added: “We have already got someone lined up and hopefully something will come to fruition soon.”
Following the weekend break, Dorchester return to action this Saturday with a trip to Blue Square Bet South leaders Woking.
* Tonight's reserve clash between Dorchester and Fleet Town has been postponed due to a frozen Avenue Stadium surface.
