ALAN Knight has resigned as manager of Dorchester Town due to work commitments.
A statement issued by secretary David Martin reads: "It is with regret that chairman Shaun Hearn has this morning accepted the resignation of manager Alan Knight.
"The Hampshire-based former Portsmouth goalkeeper has found it difficult balancing the demands of his main job with that of running the football club.
"The club wishes to record its thanks to Alan for his efforts since his appointment and wish him well for the future. Alan's last match in charge will be at Eastleigh on Friday.
"Phil Simkin and Mark Jermyn will take charge once Alan relinquishes the reins on Friday."
