DIRECTOR of football Shaun Brooks is aware the Magpies face a "monumental" task in their bid to beat the drop and believes they must get something from tomorrow's trip to Hampton & Richmond Borough (3pm).
Dorchester lie seven points adrift of Blue Square South safety and face a side flying high in fourth spot with a five-game unbeaten run behind them.
The Magpies' need for points will be further emphasised this weekend given that Welling host St Albans while Maidenhead visit Weston-super-Mare.
Brooks said: "I think we've got to get something from the game especially with the way other teams around us are picking up points.
"Although we've got a tough run-in, if we win our remaining games we will have 43 points but there is no guarantee that will be enough. The task is monumental but all we can do is prepare for the game, go into it with belief and give it our best shot."
Having beaten Maidenhead on Tuesday night thanks to a last- minute strike from defender Patrece Liburd, the county town camp is in buoyant mood.

Brooks added: "We're very much looking forward to it. Hampton beat us comfortably 5-2 at their place in the Setanta Shield and we know they're a strong outfit but there is a lot of confidence in the team at the moment and we're getting tougher to beat and conceding a lot less goals.
"It's important that we try to get a result against one of the top-six sides to see how much we've improved because our victories this season have by and large, been against teams between mid-table and the bottom.
"We did beat Fisher but Hampton will be a different proposition because they are a strong, physical side.
"They're in a fantastic position and they've got a lot of good players. However, when we played at our place we gave them a good game and had the better of it at times but still lost 1-0. There's lots of play for, for both sides."
At a crucial stage of the season, the Magpies' boss is pleased to have almost a full squad to pick from.
He said: "We're fortunate enough that Simon Evans is the only one missing as he is waiting for an operation on his knee.
"We don't want to tinker with the side too much, particularly not with the back four or the defensive players in midfield. We've had to change our attacking options at times because of our inability to score.
"It's important that we stay in games because in the past we used to concede relatively early and were always chasing the game, but over the last five or six matches we've looked a lot more competitive."

I think the problem is that they couldn't even manage a shot. All season we've had this 'too good to go down' ****. The truth was we were too crap to stay up!
