GRUUND TOUR: Eddie Mitchell, right, pays a visit to AFC Bournemouth's Dean Court
EDDIE Mitchell's interest in AFC Bournemouth was rekindled yesterday as he met a representative of administrators Begbies Traynor at Dean Court.
Last week it seemed that the Magpies' majority shareholder was out of the equation when EU-UK Limited won the race for the ailing Cherries.
But that bid fell through on Monday's deadline after a failure to agree acceptable extension terms with administrator Gerald Krasner in order to conduct further due diligence on the club.
Property developer Mitchell took the opportunity to look around the Cherries' stadium and stated that he was "still interested" in the club, however, he also added that he has held no further talks with Jeff Mostyn who remains a main player in the bidding process.
A consortium headed by Mostyn, of which Mitchell was involved, failed in its attempts to take over Bournemouth last week - losing out to EU-UK at the time. However, it appears the two have now gone their separate ways.
n Magpies' striker Nick Eastham has been recalled by parent club Salisbury City.
