EX-DIRECTOR Ian Pollock has assured Magpies' fans that he will not put the club into administration as he aims to recover his £1,000 loan.

Pollock, who resigned from the Dorchester Town board in August 2007, loaned the county town club the amount back in April 2006 and has won his case to receive repayment.

But Magpies' chairman Eddie Mitchell has said that he will only reimburse Pollock once the club itself can afford to, rather than pay the money back through his own pocket.

Pollock, who has the ability to issue a winding-up petition that could result in the club going into administration, is not expecting instant repayment but would like more assurances.

He said: "It's nothing to do with egos, I gave £1,000 to the club as a loan, if I could afford to donate it then I would, but I can't.

"I resigned from the board in August 2007 so if they had paid me by instalments then it would have all been paid off by now and saved a lot of hassle.

"I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place, and I'm seen as the bad guy in all this for wanting money that's owed to me.

"I don't want to do anything that will jeopardise the financial security of the club. I've been told they'll pay it back when they've got the money but the cost of running the team now is a lot greater.

"Eddie's financial commitment must be a frightening amount, but it would be nice if they could make some sort of commitment, such as instalments or paying it off if they win in the FA Cup on Saturday and then again in the next round.

"There are enforcement routes I can take, one of which is through bailiffs to recover the amount, but we'll just wait and see.

"What they need to do though, is win more games as the crowd will increase and so will the revenue."

Pollock added: "Eddie did actually ask me to issue a winding-up petition as it would get him out of the club. That took me aback but I've got absolutely no intentions of doing that. I'm Dorchester born and bred and have supported the club from an early age."

Mitchell though, refutes any suggestion he wants to walk away from the club. He said: "Why would I continue to put my money into the club when I could just get the administrators in myself?

"I didn't tell him to seek a winding-up petition rather that he can go down that route if he wishes, I'm still very much committed to the club. I'm supporting the club financially, going to games at home and away, and attending other events such as fans' forums, so there's not much more I can do.

"Having seen my son Tom earn his place in the team and play in the last two games it has encouraged me even more, and I'm digging deeper.

"I can only apologise to Ian for the state the club is in but the only way he'll get his money back is when the club is in credit."

n Dorchester's proposed friendly with Poole Town tomorrow night has been called off.

n The Magpies will be holding a Fans' Forum at the Jewson Stadium this Thursday (6.30pm). Anyone interested in going is advised to phone the club on 262451 to confirm their attendance.
