The Indiana Pacers pulled ahead of the Cleveland Cavaliers in the first round of the NBA play-offs with a narrow 92-90 win.

The Pacers staged a 17-point rally in the third quarter and held the Cavs to 33 in the second half, leaving LeBron James and Cleveland chasing 2-1 in their best-of-seven Eastern Conference play-off.

Bojan Bogdanovic scored 30 points for Indiana, 19 of which came in the second half, while Victor Oladipo added 18 and Thaddeus Young 12.

James scored 28, had 12 rebounds and eight assists.

It was a night of fightbacks, with the Washington Wizards and Milwaukee Bucks posting their first wins of the play-offs.

The Wizards clawed one back from the Toronto Raptors, beating the Eastern Conference leaders 122-103.

John Wall scored 28, matched by Bradley Beal, and Washington now trail Toronto 2-1 in their series.

Khris Middleton and the Bucks sank a play-off franchise record 16 triples on their way to a 116-92 win over the Boston Celtics.

Middleton scored 23, had eight rebounds and seven assists and Giannis Antetokounmpo scored 19, had five rebounds and six assists.
