DORSET shooter Peter Wilson has edged closer to Olympic glory after topping qualification in the double trap.

The 25-year-old missed just seven shots out of a possible 150, scoring rounds of 48, 48 and 47 to lead the field at the Royal Artillery Barracks.

Dorchester-born Wilson, who lives in Sherborne, now holds a three-shot advantage heading into today's final, which is due to start at 2.55pm.
