WEYMOUTH Angling Society member Ryan Casey bagged gold for England in the Home Nations shore competition that was held in Montrose, Scotland.

Casey, 17, fished in the youth section along with four other anglers in his team, the competition took place over two days with two practice days beforehand.

On the first day, Casey managed a second place in his zone behind Wales, third was Scotland with Ireland in fourth.

The following day, Casey take first place in his zone along with two of his team-mates also taking first in their zones; this result gave England a gold medal with Wales taking silver and Ireland with the bronze.

Casey would like to thank everyone who sponsored him, in his walk along Chesil Beach from Chesil Cove to West Bay and back in the same day a total of 36 miles, which helped him to fund his England trek.
