WEYMOUTH bobsleigh star Serita Shone has announced her sudden retirement from the sport tonight.
The 25-year-old driver, who missed out on this year’s Winter Olympics in Sochi and was set to plan for the Pyeonchang Games in 2018, revealed her exit from the sport to her followers on Twitter.
She said: “It is with great sadness I am announcing my retirement from bobsleigh. I have overcome every obstacle in my way and with your support produced some of the best performances of my career.
“I am looking forward to new challenges and hope you are on the journey with me.”
