BUDMOUTH student Alex Jolliffe and Weymouth College’s Rebecca Raybould have been selected to compete in the Revolution Series for Elite Track cyclists.

The pair will compete in the Hoy Future Stars competition, which is designed to develop the UK’s brightest young cycling talent in a league across the season for boys and girls’ titles.

Young riders hope to follow in the tracks of Steven Burke and Pete Kennaugh, previous Future Stars winners who have gone on to become Olympic champions.

Revolution Series attracts capacity crowds across the season and starts on Saturday, October 25 at the Olympic Velodrome in London and runs through to March which three rounds at Manchester, one at Glasgow and another back in London.

Excitingly for the young riders they have been assigned to guest ride for professional teams Orica GreenEdge from Australia and Rapha Condor JLT, respectively, which will enable them to warm up alongside professional cyclists and learn from them.

Sir Chris Hoy, Sir Bradley Wiggins, Mark Cavendish, Victoria Pendleton, Dutch legend Marianne Vos and multiple world-record holder François Pervis are just some of the world-famous names who have appeared at Revolution Series.
