Division One

Buildrite 46 Café Oasis 24

BUILDRITE’S mid-court dominance was the key to their victory over Oasis.

Both teams started with careful, accurate play and Oasis wing-attack Chloe Desmond found a lot of space to intercept several passes.

However, Buildrite were unfazed and took an early lead with accurate shooting and great teamwork.

The second quarter was a lot closer until the last few minutes when Buildrite pulled away.

The contest between Oasis goal-attack Eleanor Lake and Buildrite goal-defence Laura Neale was evenly matched and both played superbly.

Buildrite’s mid-court play was dominant with centre Jenny Ayles and wing-attack Rachel Lockwood playing excellently together.

Their team’s lead kept increasing but Oasis remained focused.

Both sides changed their line-ups for the final quarter but Buildrite had extended their advantage to 22 by the time the final whistle blew.

Poachers Inn 33 Stika 30

POACHERS kept the pressure on Stika from the very beginning of the match with strong passing around the D and tight defending.

Stika were utilising short, sharp passes to get around the Poachers’ defence and they took a narrow lead.

Two evenly-matched sides went goal for goal before Poachers edged ahead in the third quarter thanks to Charlie Teare.

The pace of play increased but this was temporarily halted when Poachers’ wing-attack sustained an injury.

Stika gained a five-goal lead by the end of the third, however, the final quarter saw Poachers get within one.

The lead changed hands until the final whistle when Poachers scraped a narrow three-goal victory.
