AUTOBITZ 35 FITNESS WORLD, WEYMOUTH 23

A STRONG start helped Autobitz to victory over Fitness World in adverse weather conditions.

Autobitz goal-defence Becky Hallett performed brilliantly and helped gain some crucial turnovers for her side.

Autobitz continued to improve their play as the game continued and soon took the lead.

Hallett then moved to goal-attack and was very strong in the shooting circle.

On the other hand, Fitness struggled to find the net and ended the first half 20-4 behind.

Fitness centre Kirsty Winning moved the ball down the court with ease and their score improved by seven in the third quarter.

Autobitz managed to keep just ahead of Fitness and held on to their lead with excellent control of the ball.

BELLE CONSTRUCTION 37 LUGGER INN 14

DOMINANT Belle Construction claimed the points after seeing off the Lugger.

A low-scoring first quarter saw both teams quite evenly matched however, Belle’s goal-shooter successfully and consistently found the net.

Belle’s play greatly improved in the second quarter and they started extending their lead.

Lugger’s goal-attack displayed some fantastic movement against some tough marking, however, her side were still trailing 18-6 at the end of the first half.

The windy weather made passes harder for both teams with multiple lost balls.

Belle maintained dominance from the start of the match and were rewarded with a substantial lead.

Lugger created a lot of opportunities but couldn’t manage to penetrate the tight Belle defence.

BOHO BEARS 33 WYKE SMUGGLERS 19

DESPITE only having six players, Boho still came out on top of this contest.

Both teams defended well, however Wyke made maximum use of their extra defending player and forced Boho to pass multiple times around the circle before attempting a shot.

Boho goal-shooter Bec Kimber was on point with her shooting and Boho took an early lead.

Wyke began to increase their level of possession and utilised their free player, Katherine Rupp, however, Boho still led by 18-9 at the end of the first half.

Wyke goal-shooter Erin King-horn, was on target with her shooting and helped her team remain within half of Boho’s score.

Both teams were competitive until the final whistle, however, depleted Boho still managed to maintain the lead.

WATERSIDE 40 CRESTA 25

WATERSIDE began the game a player down but still gained a small lead.

Cresta defenders Lucy Astrid and June Reed worked effectively as a pair, however, Waterside goal-attack Susan Lee made shots at the edge of the D, which gave the Cresta defence pair a tough time.

Waterside worked hard to compensate for their absent wing-attack and her Cresta counterpart, Jess Buckseall, made excellent passing into the D.

Waterside were joined by Alison Holmes, their seventh player, who came on at goal-attack in the third quarter and, having a full team, helped improve Waterside’s passing around the D.

Cresta found good space in all areas of the court, however, Waterside’s play was seamless from the centre straight to shooters and they managed to secure a considerable lead.
