WEYMOUTH golfer Michael Watson says he has got his “mojo” back after a hugely successful year.

Wessex Golf Centre professional Watson, pictured, winner of the PGA South West Region Order of Merit, can’t wait to return to competitive action in January.

The 2015 south west season doesn’t start until April, but Watson is keen to get some tournaments in before that so he has plenty of momentum behind him going into the new regional campaign.

Watson’s last event of this year, the PGA Play-Offs in Turkey, ended in disappointment, although he is determined to learn from it.

“I lacked a bit of sharpness throughout the event because I hadn’t had any competitive golf for six weeks before I went out there,” he said.

“If I had played more competitions after the season finished in October then I would have been three or four shots better off in each round.

“That’s something I can learn from and hopefully put right if I qualify next year.”

He added: “It’s been a great year, I’ve played really well throughout, and I’ve had plenty of wins.

“I’ve got my mojo back now and I’m looking for events to play before the season starts again in April.

“Winning the order of merit was great and doing that has given me a bit more enthusiasm for the game, and my aim is to win it again next year.”
