DORCHESTER Middle School defeated St Osmund’s Middle 3-1 in the final of the South Dorset seven-a-side competition.

Having started from the preliminary rounds, a string of emphatic results all the way to the final outlined their supremacy.

They conceded only two goals throughout the tournament, scoring an impressive 24 overall.

They began their route to the final by easing past St John’s 8-0 and defeating Radipole 3-0 a week later.

Southill were the first to breach the Dorchester backline, but a comfortable 5-1 victory sent them into the semi-finals.

Holy Trinity, who remained in the competition courtesy of a bye and an extra-time victory, could not stop Dorchester running out emphatic 5-0 winners.

Fresh off the back of a penalty shoot-out, St Osmund’s proved stern opposition in the final. In what was their closest encounter, Dorchester eventually won the game 3-1, giving them the accolade as tournament champions.
