DORCHESTER ABC have given their backing to Sol Gilday-Evans as the young fighter bids to further his boxing career.

Gilday-Evans has made a name for himself on the amateur circuit with his eye-catching performances in the ring.

Now, with the club’s blessing, he is going to look for sparring around Bournemouth, Bristol and London to improve his chances of achieving more success in the fight game.

County town coach Ben Geyser said: “With the club’s blessing, Sol is thinking of taking his boxing career a step further and getting sparring at other clubs.

“He has the ability to branch out and make a name for himself, and he has the experience, strength, the hilarious sense of humour, and endearing, compassionate kind heart to succeed.

“Sol has been a wonderful asset to the club and the other members.”

As well as impressing in competitions and on dinner shows, Gilday-Evans has also been coaching fellow youngsters at Dorchester ABC.

His dedication was recognised at the Volunteer Centre Dorset’s annual awards evening in October, where he paid tribute to the late Kieron Clewett, who received a posthumous award for his work inspiring and educating young people through boxing.
